The Bees Knees

Moss Rock Festival’s
ECO SPOTLIGHT BLOG SERIES:

Jefferson County Beekeepers Association

Why is running an environmentally conscious business important to you?

As an organization of local beekeepers, promoting environmentalism comes naturally. A healthy environment = healthy honey bees! The health of our honey bees is one of the first indicators of whether we are engaging in helpful or harmful environmental practices.  So when honey bees are your business, it makes sense to want to take actions that promote the very best for honey bee health.  Environmentalist is naturally built right in to our message.

What need drove or inspired your eco-related business or organization?

As an association, we provide education, support, and inspiration to beekeepers and to future beekeepers so we have the very best and most conscientious keepers of bees in our area.

How can people find out more about your company or organization and what it does, besides coming out to Moss Rock Festival?

Visit our website at www.jeffcobees.org, come to a monthly meeting on the third Thursday of each month 6:30 – 8:30 PM at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, “like” our facebook page, or attend one of our beekeeping courses.
